1. Understanding Customs Duty and VAT (The 10,000 PHP Rule)

The Philippines Bureau of Customs (BOC) applies a "De Minimis" value for imported goods. Please review the following:

• Orders Under 10,000 PHP (Duty-Free):

  • If your total order value (including shipping and insurance) is 10,000 PHP or less, it is generally exempt from Customs Duty and Import VAT.

  • Shopping Tip: To ensure the fastest delivery and avoid any taxes, we highly recommend keeping your total order value under 10,000 PHP. If you have a large order, consider splitting it into two separate shipments.

• Orders Over 10,000 PHP:

  • Orders exceeding this value are subject to Customs Duty (3%–10% typically) and 12% VAT.

  • DHL Disbursement Fees: If shipping via DHL, they will advance these taxes to the BOC for you. DHL will charge a "Disbursement Fee" (administrative fee) for this service, payable upon delivery.

  • PhilPost Fees: For EMS or Air Parcel, you may be required to pay a flat "Presentation to Customs" fee (approx. 112 PHP) to your local post office.
